WE CAN STOP THE MOVEMENT!

Stop the Movement is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that exists to eradicate human trafficking in Tampa Bay through education, awareness, and community.

VISION

The vision began in 2020 after a twelve month research project to determine the severity of the issue of human trafficking in Tampa Bay. Multiple organizations across the spectrum were consulted. Relationships were formed. Gaps were identified. And Stop the Movement was created.

Our goal is to select and execute the most effective prevention methods, projects and activities that will actually make a difference in stopping the supply and demand for exploitation and human trafficking. We determine this by careful evaluation of current research, partnerships with other like-minded organizations, personal field experiences and listening to and learning from survivors. We strongly believe if one could create an effective movement to stop exploitation BEFORE it devastates lives, wouldn't we all want to invest in that?

Sara Losasso is an advocate for social justice and women’s rights. She had been involved in the anti-trafficking fight for many years, and in 2020 felt prompted to do more. God laid a vision on her heart where a community of likeminded individuals came together to create real and lasting change in Tampa Bay, and Stop the Movement was born.

Human trafficking affects us all whether we know it or not. She believes that we cannot sit silent any longer without doing something. This is an assault on our children, our future and our worth. It starts with us, and it ends now!

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Kristin Taylor entered into this fight in 2019 when she met her first sex trafficking survivor, who was her daughter’s age at the time, and realized that it really can happen to anybody. Her heart was broken and since then, she's never looked back! From 1-on-1 mentoring, developing and coaching survivor fitness programs, bible studies, aftercare art therapy classes, strip club and brothel outreaches, she has seen and heard the heartbreaking stories firsthand and learned how difficult it is to rebuild lives after often-debilitating trauma.

Kristin is passionate about building up strong women and girls, who know their power and worth. She wants to do everything within her power to prevent it from happening to even to one more person!

OUR TEAM

Stop The Movement was founded by a board of brave, passionate women leaders who have devoted their time to fight for the most vulnerable. All with compelling stories themselves about why they decided to join the fight, they have dedicated their unique professional skills to make Stop The Movement the thriving, purposeful organization that it is today. Our Executive Advisory Committee is filled out by community leaders in their professions, all with one thing in common - using their skills sets and expertise to fight for the vulnerable and stop human trafficking.
